Sun Belt RISE Program member Amy Austin, a senior at Troy University, talked to men’s basketball freshman Wesley Person on his transition from high school to college. Person’s transition has been smooth, on the court and in the classroom, because of his tireless work ethic and willingness to be involved off the court.

Amy Austin is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism at Troy University. Her minor is communication studies. She has worked as a reporter for Troy University Television since August 2013.

The Sun Belt Conference RISE Program (Raising the Industry through Sports and Education). is a partnership between the Sun Belt Conference and its 13 member institutions that gives one student on each campus the unique opportunity to act as a standalone digital media correspondent for the conference office. Each student aspires to have a career in digital media and has worked closely with Sun Belt Conference staff in developing each of their stories to tell the stories of student-athletes in a unique, intriguing and most importantly honest way.
